Jake Rubin
Producer | Actor | Writer
Jake Rubin hails from Chesterfield, Missouri where he would run around in his younger days pretending to be a superhero. Now grown, he hung up his cape, picked up a camera, and made a life realizing his imagination. He is Co-Owner and founder of Foolish Gentlemen Films that has just released the debut mini-series The Fantastic Adventures of Foolish Gentlemen and the second installment of the Days Series.
Jake’s writing career began at the tender age of 18 in St Louis, Missouri when a friend double dared him to do the open mic night at the only comedy club in town. For him stand up started with warm, Midwestern audiences and an optimistic attitude, but only lasted for a brief stint when he moved to New York City for school. However, stand up became improv, and then sketch writing, and after performing with a few different groups, he found his imagination often crafted stories and characters that were too complex to fit into a few pages or a single shtick. With the guidance of some excellent professors, grad students, and fellow writers Jake honed his craft over a mixture of writing courses at NYU and soon found himself with all kinds of short stories, plays, film scripts, comic books, outlines, and ideas.
With numerous films already under his belt, Jake Rubin is developing an impressive slate of projects for the future.

Foolish Gentlemen (2016-)
Foolish Gentlemen founders Jake Rubin and Max Pava met while studying acting at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, through the Atlantic Acting School. Just before graduating, they founded Foolish Gentlemen Films, LLC in order to begin production on their flagship series, The Fantastic Adventures of Foolish Gentlemen. Their similar taste, like-minded approach, and love for entertainment has made way for their continual collaboration.
Loss For Words (2011)
Meet Grady Sullivan: He sucks. Once hailed as the F. Scott Fitzgerald of the 21st century, Grady’s last book flopped, his fiancee dumped him, and he flew New York to hide in the suburbs of middle America, where he spends his days in a drunk stupor in a less-than-epic battle against writer’s block.
Nominated for Best Actor, Best Comedy at the Action on Film International Film Festival
Nominated for Best Actor, Best Comedy, Best Director at the Underdogs Film Festival
Nominated for Best Comedy at the Trail Dance Film Festival
Salad Daze (2009)
Alex Kaufman just graduated, his girlfriend just dumped him, his grandfather just died, and he’s about to witness the breakdown of his dysfunctional family.
Hailed for its dark humor and raw integrity, Salad Daze is a serious comedy about loss, relationships, and other things that certainly aren’t funny.
